TAOM ChalkDock — Complete Set (Magnet + Non‑Magnet Versions)

The TAOM ChalkDock is a refined, reliable chalk holder system designed specifically for TAOM‑style chalk. This project includes two complete print plates, giving users the choice between a full magnet‑ready belt clip version or a simple pocketable body + lid version.
All parts are pre‑oriented for optimal printing — slice and print with no modifications required.

Plate 1 — Full ChalkDock (Magnet Version)

This plate includes:
•     Main body with magnet recess
•     Belt clip with magnet recess
•     Lid
•     Support blockers to keep magnet cavities clean
•     Two automatic pause points for magnet insertion
•     Tuned per‑object wall order for strength and clean surfaces
You will need two 20 mm × 5 mm neodymium round magnets — one for the main body and one for the belt clip.
Insert magnets during the automatic pauses and ensure correct polarity so the clip and body attract.
Incorrect polarity will cause the parts to repel.
When using strong 20×5 mm magnets, the magnetic connection is powerful enough to hold the main body (with the lid clipped underneath) directly to the belt clip. This creates a stable, one‑hand‑operable ChalkDock that stays put during movement. The belt clip geometry is tuned for real‑world use, offering firm retention without damaging clothing.
This version is ideal for players who want a belt‑mounted ChalkDock with strong magnetic retention and convenient lid storage.

Plate 2 — Chalk Body + Lid (Non‑Magnet Version)

This plate includes:

  • Main body (supports generated normally)
  • Lid
  • Same tuned wall orders and print settings as Plate 1
  • No pauses required

The lid clips onto the bottom of the body during use, providing clean, compact storage.

This version is perfect for players who prefer a simple pocketable chalk holder without the belt clip or magnet system.

Additional Notes

•     Designed specifically for TAOM chalk
•     Bayonet‑style twist lid provides a secure, reliable closure
•     Lid clips onto the bottom of the body during use
•     Space on the side of the main body for personalised text or team names
•     Prints cleanly in any filament type — Bambu Studio automatically adjusts temperature and cooling for different materials
•     Designed for a 0.4 mm nozzle (larger nozzles may affect lid fit)
•     Bayonet lock is tuned for a firm fit and will relax slightly after a few uses.

Support Removal Behaviour:

Supports are snug and require a bit of force to remove, but they pop off cleanly without damaging the part.
One or two trees may grip slightly depending on filament and cooling — these may need a light scrape, but nothing major.
The belt clip includes a small support bridge between the clip and the main body; this is intentional for print stability. It may require a quick scrape to remove, but it comes out easily and does not affect function.
No post‑processing or sanding is required.

User Notes

  • Plate 1 includes the magnet + belt clip version
  • Plate 2 includes the simple body + lid version
  • Lid uses a bayonet‑style twist lock
  • During use, the lid clips onto the bottom of the body for storage
  • Designed specifically for TAOM chalk
  • Seam set to Nearest for the cleanest finish
  • All parts print without modification — just slice and go.

Thanks for giving the TAOM ChalkDock a print — I really appreciate you taking the time to try it out and share your experience. I’ve printed this model many times on my H2D while tuning the supports, and they’re intentionally snug so the parts come out cleanly without damaging the body or clip. Since the first release, the description has included a note explaining that one or two support trees can grip a little depending on filament and cooling, so what you experienced is normal — they should still pop off with a bit of pressure and no sanding needed. This model has been getting a lot of love from the community, so I’m always happy to keep improving things based on real user feedback. Thanks again for printing it — and if you enjoyed the design, a quick free boost on the model page helps a lot and is always appreciated.
