Model Information:
Turf Moor in Burnley, Lancashire, is the historic stronghold of Burnley FC ("The Clarets") and one of the longest continuously used football stadiums in the world.
- Home since 1883: The club has played continuously at this location since 1883. Only Preston North End (Deepdale) has used its ground continuously for longer.
- Unique Location: The stadium is located in the middle of a residential area and has a strong industrial charm. An architectural curiosity is the Cricket Field Stand: This stand borders directly on the Burnley Cricket Club, so theoretically, one could watch football and cricket simultaneously from the upper tier.
- Architecture: It is a classic stadium with four separate stands (Bob Lord Stand, Cricket Field Stand, James Hargreaves Stand, Jimmy McIlroy Stand).
- Atmosphere: Turf Moor is considered one of the most intimidating stadiums for away teams, known for its compact, rough, and passionate atmosphere.
- Royal Visit: It was the first football stadium ever visited by a reigning British monarch (King George V in 1886).
