3D Miniature of Cleethorpes Pier
This 3D miniature depicts Cleethorpes Pier with its surroundings.
Model Information:
Description:
Cleethorpes Pier is a historic pleasure pier in the seaside resort of Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, England, originally opened in 1873.
- Victorian Heritage: The pier is a classic example of Victorian seaside tourism and cost £8,000 at the time (funded by the sale of shares).
- Wartime Shortening: Originally, the pier was 1,200 feet (approx. 365 meters) long. During World War II, a middle section was removed to prevent a possible landing of enemy troops. The separated part was later demolished, leaving the pier significantly shorter today (approx. 102 meters).
- Rebirth: After years of decay and various changes of ownership, the pier was extensively renovated in 2015 and received the prestigious "Pier of the Year" award in 2016.
- Usage: Today, the building on the pier houses one of the largest Fish & Chips restaurants ("Papa's") and serves as an event venue with a wide view over the Humber estuary.

Ideal for collectors, as a decorative piece, or as a gift.
