Description

Funnel that screws on to 5 qt oil containers. It is threaded for use with Valvoline containers as that is the primary brand I use, but i have used it with Walmart brand 5qt oil containers and with a bit of pressure my neighbor has used one with mobile brand as well.

I use this funnel to aid in returning used motor oil to 5 qt containers so they can be easily dropped off at a recycle center. After spilling oil or over filling by accident and making a mess I decided to design these funnels that screw on and seal against the container like the cap. This way if I overfill i just pour the excess back into the oil drain pan and move to a new 5qt container. The funnel chimney is large, nearly equal to the funnel drain area to ensure that oil does not “glug” when pouring. When that would happen in earlier iterations of this design, little oil drops would splatter.

This print turned out beautiful. I love the design, excellent job with the knurled grip. one of my favorite prints so far lol. I’d like to have one for every style jug…hahaha I printed in Sunlight PETG with an X1C

Thank you! I want to design some more as well, problem is, without the jug and cap, there is no way to fine tune the design by testing. The newest car we own will use mobile branded oil, so once perform the first oil change, as time permits, I'll be modeling one for that brand.

I love this, we use Valvoline bottles at the shop I work at very often so I'll be utilizing a few of these. Question, if you may know. I am printing on an Ender 3, fairly modified, and Bambu Studio shows a 17.5hr print time with my settings so I tried out "vase mode" and it made one in less than 3hr but only the outer walls, no threads or inner tube. Any hints on getting vase mode to print the whole thing or do I just bite the bullet and wait for the longer print time? Thanks in advance!

i retired my ender3 after its mainboard died. Saw a youtube vid on the bambu printers and a chunk of change later… anyway i never used vase mode, so ive got no advice there you could try to speed up your print head after first layer, that may help. Another thing to try would get a larger print nozzle. i had really good luck with 1.0mm but im not sure how the threads will come out. maybe a .6mm to start? That would have the best affect on speed imo. not sure what your income situations is but maybe consider thinking about investing in a PS1 on the next sale. the difference in speed and quality is amazing. think modern car vs a model T. after nearly a decade of fiddling with old creality printers it feels like cheating

used it this weekend for two of my cars! they work so good! next up is mobile. They use a cone shaped opening. That will be an interesting challenge

doesn't fit Castrol or Walmart brand or Quakerstate 5qt oil jugs. threads are much smaller

If you cut off the spout, send those with the lids to me ill work on adapting the model. i dont need the walmart one, have that. Another person sent me a bottle this week for a brand different then the ones you mentioned. If you are interested DM me.
