Description

This is a larger, H2-series version of the glass cover slider, designed specifically for Bambu Lab H2 printers (H2C / H2D / H2S).

It improves everyday usability of the top glass lid by guiding it smoothly and keeping it aligned while opening/closing—especially helpful if you open the lid frequently for maintenance, filament handling, or quick checks.

Note about the “Top glass is opened” warning message: There are two sensors at the corners of the printer and two small metal pieces (black-taped) attached to the glass cover. Because the slider slightly changes the distance between the metal pieces on the glass and the sensors, the app may show a “Top glass is opened” warning. This does notaffect printing. If you want to remove the warning, placing two thin metal pieces(eg, utility blades) under the corners of the slider—aligned with the black-taped metal pieces on the glass—will restore the sensor detection and make the message go away.

I could design a mechanism to make the sensor function exactly as it originally did, for example by adding a small riser on the glass and incorporating a recessed (dented) rail into the slider. However, this would weaken the slider structure and add complexity, so I’m not entirely sure it’s worth the tradeoff. Let me know in the comments what you think. If enough people feel this is worth exploring, I will provide an updated version.
