Description
UPDATE 25.06.2026: If you’re looking for a larger self-watering semi-hydro system, check out my new model! It’s built around a standard 0.5L disposable plastic cup as the water reservoir and includes a 420 ml propagation pot along with multiple decorative outer pot designs.
UPDATE 24.06.2026: Added a completely closed pot without a wick hole.
UPDATE 18.03.2026: In case you do not want the water roots to grow into the reservoir, I added a version with a closed bottom (only one opening for the wick).
- Self-watering pot for plant propagation, designed to fit a standard 200 ml disposable plastic cup.
- Uses only 6 g of filament and prints in about 15 minutes.
- The single-wall design allows easy root monitoring when printed in transparent filament (PETG recommended). The pot can also be cut away during repotting if needed.
- The fine bottom mesh retains fine Fluval and perlite, maintains excellent aeration, and features a dedicated wick cutout.
- If you do not want the water roots to grow into the reservoir, use the version with a closed bottom without mesh.
Let the plate cool a little bit before removing the print.
