Need a present? With this kit, you can transform any frame to an audio picture frame that plays a sound when a button is pressed. I used it to gift pictures of my son to his grandparents. When they press the button, they will hear my son saying their names in his baby language ("mmaa", “bua”). So this model allows you to create a very cute and ultra personalized present for Christmas or birthdays.

Hardware I used:

Prints contained:

  • Case for the speaker
  • Drill template for the speaker case
  • Case for the sound chip
  • Drill template for the sound chip case
  • Case for the button
  • Drill template for the button case

Assembling instructions

Unbox the audio chips

Put the speaker and the chip in their housings. They should snap fit.

Use the drill templates to drill holes on the back of the frame. The position should be like in the picture to the right.

Then use 2x10mm screws to attach the chip and the speaker.

Do the same for the button. Use the drill template to drill a hole, then attach it from the back using 2x16mm scrws.

The screw length here may differ depending on the frame you have.

Once you are done with your recording you can cut off the red wire to remove the record button.

Tip: Cut the two wires one after another to avoid creating a short circuit caused by your cutting pliers.
