New Print Profiles — looser fit

A few users reported the toolhead was a tight fit in the original box, so I've added new print profiles with loosened tolerances for a smoother, easier fit. The original (tighter) version is still included.

I had no issues with the originals printed in PETG on the Snapmaker U1, and I still prefer that snugger fit — so pick whichever suits your printer and preference.

Note: For looser fit prtofiles I only printed the test box shown in the print profile image.

I've also uploaded STLs of the internal box in both the original and looser fit — feel free to draft-print those first before committing to whole boxe.

---------

This is a compact, protective storage case designed to hold a spare toolhead and a single spare nozzle for Snapmaker U1.

No Hardware Required

  • No screws
  • No metal pins
  • Uses standard 1.75 mm filament as:
    • Hinge pin
    • Locking pin
  • Lid snap-closes securely and stays shut during storage
  • Custom-fit cavity for one U1 toolhead and nozzle

Assembly

  1. Use 1.75 mm filament and push it through the provided hinge holders to create the hinge.
  2. Install the latch wheels using raw filament as pins.
  3. Attach the latch to the lid, again using raw filament.
  4. Trim any excess filament flush.

Optional TPU Seal

  • You can add a seal using TPU filament.

Future Profiles

I’m currently working on additional versions of this design:

  • Snapmaker-branded profile
    • Snapmaker logo on the lid: Tested and Profile added
  • Multi-toolhead storage box
  • Larger box designed to hold all 4 toolheads: Tested

Behold: the prototypes, the misprints, my new Fusion 360 journey and Snappy overlooking it all
