Description

Ping Pong Racket • Multi Material Set

With this project I wanted to experiment with multi‑material 3D printing. It wasn’t easy, but I’m excited to share the result with you!

Boost Me (for free)

If you liked my model consider boosting to keep me design!😊

This is a 3D‑printed table tennis paddle made with PLA for the handle and internal structure, and TPU to mimic the rubber surface of traditional paddles. The cross‑section is designed to give feedback as close as possible to a real paddle: there’s a dual‑layer TPU setup, with a 100% solid outer layer and an inner layer printed with a gyroid infill to boost ball rebound.

The handle assembles using the six inserts included in the print profile, plus the two outer grips.

It’s shaped to be comfortable in the hand and also works as a practical little stand for the ball—perfect for when it inevitably rolls off the table!

You can have fun customizing the colors directly through the print profile.
There are tons of possible combinations, and I’ve suggested a few to get you started.

I got the best results with TPU + PLA, but you’re free to try TPU + PETG or even TPU + carbon‑fiber filament. Even though some of these materials don’t bond well together, I added a TPU connector running through the paddle so the two sides stay firmly linked no matter what materials you choose.
