Description

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is an extended muzzle/front end for the Freerunner v2 blaster. It adds a bit of picatinny rail under the blaster, for mounting front grips. It also extends the top picatinny rail a bit.

This front end works great alongside my buffer tube stock option for the blaster (files for that here: https://www.printables.com/model/1294830-freerunner-v2-buffer-tube-stock-upper).

Hardware Needed

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only hardware needed is

  • 3x M3x45mm socket head screws (two attach the FrontEnd to the Upper, and one attaches the FrontEnd to the Lower)
  • 3x m3 heat set inserts
  • 2x m3x8mm screws (hold on the longer top picatinny rail)

I RECOMMEND adding M3 heat set inserts to the two holes on the tip of the Upper, and on the extra hole I added to the Lower, so you can remove the FrontEnd for blaster maintenance easily.

The 3dp Parts

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only parts changed VS a normal Freerunner v2 are:

  • OrangeTip (the muzzle)
  • PicRail (the picatinny rail on top of the blaster)

And you can optionally use my Lower file which just has an extra screw hole on the front.

If you already have a printed Lower part, you can just use a small drill bit (3/32" drill bits work well for M3 screw holes) to make that screw hole for one of the M3 screws on my front end to attach.

(First attach the front end to your printed Upper, then attach the Upper to the Lower. Then put the M3x45mm screw through the bottom hole on my front end, and spin it a bit to leave a mark on the lower. Then remove the upper and front end, drill the hole where the mark is, and then assemble it all together. Optionally, you can also jam an M3 heat set insert into the new Lower hole, to make it more durable.)

Printing

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For printing, you can either:

Orient it with the muzzle tip on the build plate, with supports inside the muzzle and on the bit right behind the bottom picatinny rail.

OR

You can print it with the back of the piece on the build plate, with supports on the curved and flat floating portions and the picatinny rail notches.

I'd personally recommend doing the first option, with the muzzle tip on the build plate.

Thanks to Chance for help with my Freerunner V2 build. Also, he hates that I've made the FRv2 into a carbine. lol, lmao even.
