Description

It's-a me: The all-in-one gift, puzzle, fidget, stash, and decoration is here!

Meet the Mazeshroom: a cute mushroom figure with a double-sided, satisfyingly challenging labyrinth inside.

For Christmas, Easter, Halloween, a birthday, and/or yourself, this is the perfect gift box or gift all in itself, and it will challenge the recipient to see what, if anything, you put inside!  This is also a great labyrinth maze that is satisfyingly difficult to solve, yet looks great on a shelf.

I recommend up/down scaling for even more possibilities!  Shrink this to a party favor and race to solve it, or make this into a complete and (somewhat) secure piggy bank.  There are large and small print profiles.

Have fun!

UPDATE 2/11/2026:

Rolling out over the next few days: a redesigned top that is stronger, easier to print, and better looking!

Printing tips:

  • If the spots are giving you adhesion problems, use glue, a SuperTack plate, or set the printer speed to 50%.
  • PLA is recommended.
  • Do not use supports on the body or top.  For the top, they are a waste of plastic; for the body, they interfere with the fit of the eyes.

Solving Tips:

  • Make sure the two pegs on the top of the mushroom are aligned.  If one progresses farther up the maze than another, it can get stuck.
  • When you can see the maze, map out your next moves.
  • If something is stashed inside, it may get stuck and prevent solving.  The top is shaped to help prevent this, but if it does happen, shake the mushroom until the object settles down.
  • If the mazeshroom still gets stuck, try filing down the larger prong on the inside of the top part.

Assembly:

  • The eyes snap-fit.  Make sure they slant so that the higher part is closer to the middle.  Don't be afraid to use a little force to get them in.
  • Also, if the eyes are printed on a textured plate, put the textured part on the outside so they can sparkle!
  • The spots will require glue.  It was tested with hot glue, but wood glue or superglue should work.
  • The spots are slightly elliptical.  That is normal; ensure that the spots are aligned correctly.

A hint is located in the assembly guide.
