Love the Stuka? Boost this model to keep the Collection Flying

Add a legendary piece of aviation history to your collection - A 1/72 scale model of the Junkers Ju 87 “Stuka” Variant D-5, the iconic German dive bomber known for its inverted gull wings and fixed landing gear. This model is designed to be placed on a stand provided in the print profile, or for a ground display on its own landing gears, and includes a set of 3 scaled 250 Kg bombs to complete the look.

The model is designed to balance fine detail with ease of printing

📜 Historical Background

The Junkers Ju 87, widely known as the Stuka (from Sturzkampfflugzeug, or "dive bomber"), was one of the most recognizable aircraft of World War II. It was designed for pinpoint precision bombing, using a steep diving maneuver to deliver its payload with terrifying accuracy.

To increase its psychological impact, early versions were famously equipped with wind-driven "Jericho Trumpet" sirens that wailed during a dive. While it became a symbol of the German Blitzkrieg across Europe, it was most effective in environments where its side had air superiority, serving as flying artillery for ground forces.

⚙️Printing Tips

  • Orientation: For the best surface finish and total outcome I recommend printing with the same orientation as in provided print profile.
  • Resolution: 0.16mm layer height or less is recommended to capture the small details.
  • Remove supports carefully using pliers or a sharp hobby knife.
  • Use strong superglue for a secure assembly.
  • The cockpit canopy looks best in transparent filament.
  • Before attaching roundel decals, gently bend them with your thumb to match the fuselage curve.
