Sardinian Mother Goddess - SARDINIA
Print Profile(1)

Description
The Sardinian Mother Goddess is a prehistoric female deity, a symbol of life, fertility, and regeneration, worshipped in Sardinia since the Neolithic period. She is represented by statuettes found in funerary contexts as the Earth-Mother who welcomes into her womb, with generous forms and attributes linked to nature, while Pachamama is the Andean (Inca) name for the "Mother Earth", similar but culturally distinct, although both embody the universal cult of the Earth that nourishes and regenerates, with the Sardinian Mother Goddess having specific artistic manifestations such as the "steatopygous goddesses".
