High-definition 3D Moon Bas-relief
Print Profile(1)

Description
This project originated from the desire to transform an image of the Moon into matter, making craters, irregularities, and micro-reliefs visible through 3D printing.
The model was developed starting from a high-detail depth map, optimized to obtain a readable, textured, and printable bas-relief without supports.
The surface is intentionally not “clean”: the texture and layers are part of the final result and contribute to a more realistic and physical feel.
The project is designed to:
- enhance light and shadow
- perform well even without post-processing
- be scalable and adaptable to different sizes
Each print is slightly different depending on filament, layer height, and lighting, making each piece unique.
🖨️ Printing Tips
- Supports needed, 45-degree object rotation recommended
- Recommended layer height: 0.20 mm +- 0.1
- Side lighting to emphasize the relief
An ideal project for those who love astronomy, texture, and 3D printing as an expressive medium, as well as a technical one.
