Description

The Switch Plant Stand has been fully redesign from the ground up for the Switch 2! The printing process and assembly process have been refined completely.

The leaves are now fully detachable to use as joycon grips as well. The leaves do use magnets to attach to the stem and joycons themselves. See bottom of description for which ones to buy.

Glue is only necessary to hold the cable plug in the head piece, the rest of the assembly is GLUE FREE! Every piece is designed to be a threaded in place, and should align near perfectly. This also means that if a piece were to break, you can now disassemble your stand and replace that piece, then reassemble with out issue.

The bottom cable port is using a new clip to hole the plug in place without glue. If the piece is too loose, scale down until it's snug.

looks amazing. came out great. only issue is the top where the switch sits, does not hold it evenly or tight.

This was a wonderful print. everything worked just as expected. To be honest this print was what made say “what if I got myself one of those 3D printers?” And I'm so happy I did. I glued the magnets but with your changes no need to glue the cord. My child is impressed by his mama, so thank you!! Thank you for sharing!!

did you glue them because you were having issues?

I glued in the magnets because they didn't fit in snug so whenever I took the controllers out the ones that are supposed to stay came out as well.

love it. but the leaves don't stay because the switch 2 joycons are too heavy for the magnets. ideas for a fix? I don't know how to edit files at all but maybe more holes for more magnets?

After building a few of these, I realized that the best way to set the magnets for the grips is to stack the magnets together (2 per stack), insert them into one side, then push the grip over top, and twist the magnets apart to separate. This makes sure the magnets will be touching when docked. The surface contact area does make a bit of difference.

This is a great print, but doesn’t currently fit a Switch 2, so some modifications had to be made.

There should be two 3MF files, one for Switch 2, and the other for Switch 1.
