Description
Description: I created this model to be a strictly screen-accurate version of the classic Pokéball. The design focuses on clean lines, a hidden hinge mechanism and support-free printing.
Technical Details:
- Hinge: Uses a 1.75mm filament segment 16mm long as a pin. The hinge is contained within the ball's diameter to maintain a perfect sphere when closed.
- Button: Designed for a tactile feel. It accommodates either a standard silicone game controller button pad (cut down) or a pair of 5x2mm magnets with like poles opposing to act as a spring.
- Assembly: Parts are split for easy color separation (Red, White, Black, Green, Silver and Gold). No AMS is required, but a 3MF file is included for those who have one.
- Fitment: Components use snap-fit or friction fit joints to minimize the need for glue. The button bezel requires some glue (however be careful as excess glue can leak on to the button, ceasing the button from moving)
Optional
- Podium: Designed for 5cm Pokémon figurines or ring for proposal!
Print Settings:
- Supports: 0 (None required)
- Layer Height: 0.16mm, variable layer height recommended for the top of the dome
- Wall Loops: 2
- Materials used in photos: PLA+ Silk Red/White for the exterior, Matte Black for the interior. PLA+ Silk Silver for Windows, Silk Gold for Pins and PLA Metal Green for the energy button.
