Description

This is the caddy/holder I designed to organize my EDC mini tools, as seen in this video:

Tools It Will Hold

  • Knipex Cobra XS Water Pump Pliers
  • 711L Mini Ratchet TG, Mini Ratchet Duo, or original Mini Ratchet
  • 711L T-Handle Bit Extension
  • Victorinox Companion Slim Swiss Army Knife (or other two-layer 93mm Alox models)
  • 5 Leatherman-style double sided flat bits (also works with Galvanox and others)

Printed in PLA and the parts will be tight fitting at first but will loosen before too long.

Remixed from Todd Parker's (Swiss Mods) Knipex/711L tool holder. Awesome work and concept but I wanted something even more compact. Trimmed down to just the essential parts I needed, rearranged them, added the Swiss Army section and Leatherman bit holders to keep everything compact and tidy and stitched it all back together. Fits in a Raine #5 pouch if you can find one!

Thanks to the author for adding the pen holder. That’s exactly what I was missing in the original model.

No, only the two-layer models: Electrician and Companion Slim. The three-layer one doesn't fit due to its size

This is a good holder. The SAK limiter (slide) needs reinforcement. Tried using Nextool, Galvanox, and Leatherman bits: Leatherman and Nextool fit the best, the some Galvanox bits were loose and would fall out if shaken. 7llL ratchet work very well.

after the second insertion of the Victorinox, the limiter fell off, and I also don't like that there is no retainer for the second handle on the Knipex. otherwise the model is good

I added a small magnet to the outside of the last bit holder. It is just strong enough to hold the handle of the Knipex closed without making it hard to take out.

Good idea, but I have already printed a new version with 4 bits and a holder

This solved the issue of my pliers scratching against the Victorinox. It's also great that you don't have to fish for it at the bottom of your pocket since the holder stays upright. The Cadet and the pliers fit tight enough to stay in place but are easy to pull out. I rarely have to use various bits and a ratchet so I pushed 2 small magnets into the far right bit hole to hold the pliers closed, and the ratchet slot can hold a spare triple A for my flashlight.

Very nice! First printed it with ABS. Print was a joy out perfectly printed. Second round was PETG-CF. Print was almost perfect. My printer and i have had a go with -CF's before. Still working out bugs on our end. round 3 was rematch with CF, was a success!

Really like the holder. It also fits a workpro plier if you dremel the lanyard off. The micra is super loose in that sak slot, but I just wanted to fill the space.

DCA: Inquiring minds want to know, what software did you use to create this remix? I am trying to make a modification to have it fit my SAK compact but am stymied at the moment.

It was primarily done all in the slicer. the only part that started elsewhere was the box for the SAK. I made a 2D outline for it in illustrator saved as an SVG, imported it into the slicer, extruded it, and hacked corners off it to get the final shape. Needless to say my 3D modeling skills are, at best, rudimentary. You should be able to ungroup the model, scale the box appropriately, and regroup. If I published it correctly, that is.

Awesome, I'll give that a try instead. I spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to force it work in FreeCAD before throwing in the towel. I suppose the "easy button" would be to just purchase one of the shiny Victorinox Alox Companions, but I have a lot of time invested in modified plus scales on my compact. Fortunately some guy designed this sweet little knife called a pocket tango that meets my blade needs.

STL in the download zip is different from the image. Did anyone notice that missing slit in the actual STL file?

The slit is achieved with a negative part modifier that should be present in the 3mf
