Description

Tired of the little handwheel that your Atlas 6" lathe has for the compound? This is your solution!

The only extra hardware this requires is a thrust bearing to go between the actual compound and the indicator (such as the one I used from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W1YVVSL?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1), a ¼"-20 screw to go into the dial so it can be reset to zero (a feature that the lathe basically didn't have before!), and two 3/8"-24 screws for the handles for the wheel (I used two taps in the pictures to illustrate - use actual proper hardware for these).

This handwheel is not appropriate for people who have their compound set to 0 degrees, because it will run into the cross slide's hardware. But if you have a compound… why would you have it at 0 degrees anyways?

Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!

Printed this for my husband. The print ran smoothly and fit perfectly on the lathe. Awesome job!

I'm surprised someone else printed this - but I'm super happy that you're making your lathe better! I might try to make something for the cross-slide and/or tail stock as well. Keep an eye out - and let me know if you have any other ideas I can help make!
