Description
Secure DIN Rail (TH35) Clamp Mount – Procentec EtherTAP & Universal
Overview
This is a heavy-duty, two-piece bolt-on mounting bracket designed for standard DIN Rail TH35. While specifically engineered to securely hold the Procentec EtherTAP industrial monitoring tool, its "C-clamp" geometry makes it a perfect universal solution for mounting any non-DIN-compatible devices or custom enclosures in automation cabinets.
Unlike snap-fit printed clips that often fatigue or snap over time, this design uses a vertical bolt-clamping mechanism. This ensures a rock-solid grip on the rail that won't budge, even in environments with high vibration.
Key Features
- Mechanical Precision: Two-part interlocking design for maximum clamping force.
- Industrial Reliability: Securely locks onto the rail; no risk of the device falling off if bumped.
- Zero Supports: Optimized geometry for clean printing without the need for support material.
- Cross-Section Verified: Designed with internal tolerances for a perfect fit on standard 35mm rails.
Hardware Required (BOM)
To assemble one bracket, you will need:
- 1x M3 Bolt (Socket head recommended).
- 1x M3 Nut (Standard hex nut to be seated in the internal slot). (Note: If you scaled the model for M4, adjust accordingly).
Installation Instructions
- Insert the Nut: Slide the hex nut into the designated slot in the bottom half of the bracket.
- Position: Place the top and bottom halves around the DIN rail, ensuring the hooks engage with the rail edges.
- Tighten: Insert the bolt through the top hole and screw it into the nut. Tighten until the bracket is immobile.
- Mount Device: For longer devices like the EtherTAP, use two brackets spaced apart as shown in the gallery.
Recommended Print Settings
- Material: PETG, ASA, or ABS. (Highly recommended for industrial cabinets due to heat resistance. PLA can be used for temporary setups).
- Walls/Perimeters: 3 or 4 for structural integrity around the bolt path.
- Infill: 25% (Gyroid or Grid) for a good balance of strength and material usage.
- Orientation: Print on the side for maximum layer strength across the "hooks."
