The Jack Rabbit Trading Post is much more than just a souvenir shop; it's a true Route 66 legend located just outside Joseph City, Arizona.
Founded in 1949 by Jim Taylor on what was once a snake farm, this trading post has become world-famous thanks to one of the most iconic advertising campaigns of the "Mother Road".
For miles and miles, travelers were accompanied by black signs with the silhouette of a rabbit indicating the remaining distance, culminating in the famous billboard with the words "HERE IT IS" that still greets visitors today with its old-world charm.

The atmosphere upon arrival is steeped in nostalgia and human warmth, thanks especially to owners Cindy and Tony Jaquez, who have run the place since 1995 with contagious passion.
Outside, the main attraction is undoubtedly the giant fiberglass rabbit on which you can climb to take a souvenir photo, a tradition that has lasted for decades.
And here's the faithfully reproduced model you can print for your Route 66 collection!
A short distance away, at the back of the property, is an old rusty De Soto sedan, Tony's father's car, which adds a touch of authentic historical decay to Arizona's desert landscape.

Inside the trading post is a treasure trove of curiosities and local crafts.
The shelves are full of moccasins, t-shirts, Route 66 license plates, and all kinds of souvenirs, but what makes the visit special is the feeling of being part of a big family.
Many visitors describe the experience as a step back in time, where time seems to have stopped in the golden age of road trips.
Pop culture has also paid homage to this place: in the animated film "Cars", the "HERE IT IS" billboard (for which you can find the model on Cults3d made by me) was parodied by replacing the rabbit with a Ford Model T, testifying to its status as a cultural icon.

If you wish to visit, the Jack Rabbit Trading Post is located at 3386 U.S. Rte 66, Joseph City, AZ 86032, easily accessible via Exit 269 of Interstate 40.
It's a must-stop for anyone wanting to experience the essence of the Route 66 spirit, made of endless roads, friendly smiles, and stories worth telling.
