I have been an avid sea angler for decades. Lately, as I get older, I find myself spending more time at local breakwaters. The accessibility is great, and because the conditions are so comfortable, my fishing sessions tend to get longer. Naturally, there are moments when I need to set my rod down and take a short rest.

I searched for a reliable rod rest to keep my gear safe during those breaks, but I couldn’t find anything on the market that truly satisfied me.

That is why I designed these two versions:

2. The Multi-Purpose Model: A versatile design that supports both horizontal and vertical orientations.

Since fishing gear—especially rods and reels—can be quite expensive, my top priority was durability. I went through numerous iterations and trial-and-error phases to balance structural strength with an aesthetic design. While there is always room for minor improvements, I am confident that this design is robust enough to protect your precious gear during breakwater fishing.

Since strength is the most critical factor for this functional part, I have optimized the print orientation and material choice:

• Material: PETG (Highly recommended for outdoor durability and impact resistance).
• Print Orientation: I intentionally placed the parts horizontally to maximize shear strength and prevent snapping along layer lines.
• Wall Loops: 3 or more
• Infill Density: 45% (Rectilinear or Gyroid)
• Support: Required
• Brim: Recommended for better bed adhesion
