Half Dome - Yosemite California

Towering 4,800 feet over the Yosemite valley floor Half Dome is an iconic hike and landmark of this National Park in California, USA. At it's peak nearly 1,000 people per day attempted to hike to the summit of Half Dome, taking the cables route to the top.

To create this model I used high-resolution airborne LiDAR of the Yosemite Valley sourced from NCALM Project by Valerie Zimmer, University of California Berkeley 2010 with a base DEM resolution of approximately 1m. I exported this as a 1:18,000 scale model of Half Dome and the Yosemite valley, and have colored it artistically.
