If you print and enjoy this model, a like, boost, or photo of your setup is always appreciated.

I needed a desiccant holder for the rear side of my filament box.  I couldn't find one so i ended up modeling one.

v3

altered door size slightly for a tighter fit

thanks @McChelsea for the suggestion.

v2

I have modified the original model to reduce the support required.  It now only requires the front lip that is allready manually painted for support.

thanks @Ma173 for the suggestion.

Works like a charm in the Skroam Müsli Boxes! Is it possible to slightly redesign the model to eliminate the need for supports though? I'd like to print this silica box a few times for all my filaments and would prefer this model then, as it consumes relatively little amounts of filament while being able to house enough silica for one filament box. Without the supports it would be even less material spent. Thanks! ☺️

thanks for the review, they look really clean. That’s a solid suggestion. This was one of my earlier models so supports or not wasn’t exactly a priority for me. should be an easy fix, I will look into it tonight. Appreciate the download!

I attempted to rework the model and removed the flat top but for some reason it still puts in the 2.21g support. Currently printing a project but I will attempt to print it without support after and if its successful i will upload it for you.

I love this desiccant bin! It fits in the Skroam cereal containers perfectly (on the wider side of the container), and the holes are so small that no desiccant pieces can fall out, even if broken or small. The first container I printed let a lot spill out of the larger holes, so this model was a godsend! My only complaint is that the sliding panel doesn't always have a snug fit, so I had one slide out and spill pellets all over. I now make sure I have a good hold on it when adding or removing the bin to my filament container, and I will probably hit it with a heat gun to slightly warp the edges to make a tighter fit. It's otherwise perfect, and uses far less filament than the ones that include an entire spool holder, while still keeping the spool tightly in place.

Thanks for leaving a review, pictures, AND feedback. truely appreciate it. I got small beads myself so that was a consideration when I modeled it. This was one of my earlier models so I’m sure I can update the door, I will take a look at it tomorrow.

UPDATED V3 tighter door
It's a perfect fit for the conainter. However the lid is a bit loose I had to scale it up around 0.3 for a more snug fit so it didn't slide off. Also plenty of room on the bottom, a larger opening to fill the desiccant would be nice. That is mainly personal preference since I wanted to reuse rectangular funnel I had for AMS desiccant bins. I will probaby adjust that myself.
