Behind my lamp prints – It’s The Detail That Matters ✨

Hi everyone! 

I just wanted to share a little insight into the time and effort that goes into creating these lamps. Each one takes hours of design, testing, and fine-tuning to achieve the level of detail you see when the lamp is lit under LED light. 💡 I always strive to make sure every lamp prints with as little cleanup as possible and I’ve been successful about 98% of the time! 

But as many of you have been asking me to push the boundaries of detail even further, I’m stepping it up a notch. That means sometimes you might notice a few small spikes or fine edges that just need a quick trim with clippers, and a gentle pass of a heat gun to smooth things out. After applying the heat, just run your fingers lightly over those areas and any tiny loose pieces will simply fall away, leaving a clean and smooth finish. 🔧🔥 

To keep things transparent (no pun intended 😄), I’ll start sharing photos of lamps straight off the print plate so you can see exactly what to expect before the finishing touches are done. You’ll also notice from the one or two photos I’m posting that these small spikes only appear in one or two tiny areas, they’re very minimal and nothing that takes away from the overall quality or finish. I’m also including a final photo at the end of each set to show you the difference after cleanup and highlighting just how smooth and polished the final result looks once it’s complete. ✨ 

Each print goes through multiple drafts because I’m very particular and I want every lamp to look as close to perfect as possible, especially if it were me printing it, gifting it or buy (commerical is coming). You can also appreciate that these lamps take a long time to print, and for most designs, I complete three to four full versions before I’m happy with the final result. 🕒

*Inserts for Kit-001 / MH001 LED can be found inside the main file, these will fit all my existing lamps.

Important:

Please ensure you have your filament settings correctly tuned.

There is slight clean up required for this lamp as seen in the photos, please follow my clean up instructions above.

0.12mm Layer

7 Walls

6 Top Shell/Layer
15% Infill
Rectlinear infill

Arachne wall generator (arachne takes longer to slice, but generates a better print)

Colour change has already been added at layer 108.

You can add inner/outer brim to secure the base of the lamp depend on the type of print bed you are using.

Do not worry about the floating error that may appear.

Do NOT: use detect thin walls
