This is a 3D modeled hub cap that fits some (not all) 2007-2014 Chevy trucks.
I have posted 3 different print profiles…
- Normal Chevrolet logo
- Blank, no logos or text
- Custom Flamingo hub cap
I recommend printing 1 hubcap to check the fit before printing all 4. If you are printing a multi-colored model I recommend printing a test bank hub using cheap crappy filament before print all 4 with the AMS (and better filament) to save filament, but that's me…
KNOW YOUR PRINTER! This model printed great on my A1 without any issue @ normal speed. However, I needed to slow down my P1P to get a cleaner print (my P1P struggles with PETG supports and infill, the default PETG profile seems to just be too fast). This is a large relatively complicated print for PETG, so if in doubt… slow your printer down! You'll be happier with the result!
I have not had any trouble with these fitting on any tires, but if you do, you can slightly adjust the size to your needs. If for some crazy reason, you still have trouble with the fit, you can remove one of the key pegs on the back (one is a triangle, and one is a half circle). You shouldn't need to do that, buuut, if needed, that would give you hub cap a little more slop to fit.
ONLY print these in a filament that can handle the elements!!! I would NOT print this in PLA or PLA+ (in my opinion). I printed the ones I made for my kid in PETG and they've held up nicely with over a year of use.
1 more NOTE: I print these standing on their side to make them strongest where they need to be (the clips).
Anyway, hope someone gets some use out of these, I think they are awesome, but what can I say… I'm no longer objective…
