Boost Me (for free)
Love this cranky tree? Consider boosting me.
Based on the ever so cranky Whomping Willow from Harry Potter
Recommended Print Settings
- Material: PLA / PLA Matte
- Nozzle: 0.4 mm (0.2 mm for ultra-fine branch detail)
- Layer height: 0.16 mm
- Supports: Tree supports (Organic, build plate only)
- Adhesion: Outer + Inner Brim (8–10 mm recommended)
Tips
- The model is scaled to 138% This improves branch strength and print reliability. But you can always scale up.
- Lower nozzle temperature slightly to reduce stringing
- A brim is strongly recommended due to the ring-shaped base
I lowered the nozzle temp to 215C when the smaller branches where printing, but still a cobweb like stringing appeared. I used hot tweezers (held them in a flame) and this removed most of the strings.
But you could leave them on, it really does look like cobwebbing. ;-)
I would love to see your pictures. Especially if you have Harry Potter themed diorama's. I need some more inspiration for my own diorama i'm planning to create.
