Introduction

I took inspiration from the PETamentor2 project, but I decided to personally design and draw all the 3D printed files to create a machine capable of transforming PET bottles into filament for 3D printers. The main goal is to create an economical, reproducible by anyone solution based on easily available components, with a total cost of about 30€

This machine allows you to recycle PET plastic bottles by converting them into reusable filament, reducing waste and creating a virtuous cycle of domestic circular economy

General Operation

  1. The plastic bottle is cut into thin strips
  2. The strips are fed into a heated system (hotend)
  3. The plastic is extruded forming 1.75 mm filament
  4. The filament is collected and can be wound onto a spool
