Description

Custom 6×9 Speaker Grill – Honeycomb Design (Polk DB692 Compatible)

This is a custom-designed 6×9 speaker grill built to fit the Polk DB692 speakers and other similarly sized 6×9 car-audio drivers. The grill uses a reinforced honeycomb pattern that provides strong protection while maintaining airflow and sound clarity. Its modern, aggressive design makes it perfect for demo boxes, portable audio rigs, enclosures, and automotive installs.

This is the same grill shown in the sample product-style photos, printed in black with a red accent layer.

Features

  • Perfect fit for Polk DB692
Modeled around the DB-series mounting footprint and tweeter height.
  • High-flow honeycomb layout
Protects the cone and tweeter without choking output.
  • Rigid outer frame
Designed to withstand real-world handling and vibrations.
  • Two-color print friendly
Accent color pops through the honeycomb for a premium look.

🖨 Recommended Print Settings

  • Orientation: Flat on the print bed, front facing up
  • Layer Height: 0.16–0.24 mm
  • Perimeters/Walls: 2-4 walls for stiffness
  • Infill: 15–20% (Gyroid / Adaptive Cubic)
  • Material:
    • PLA+ for general use
    • PETG / ASA for automotive or outdoor installs
  • Supports: On Screw Holes Only

For two-color results, do a filament change right before the honeycomb bridges begin.

🔧 Installation

  1. Place grill over the Polk DB692 speaker.
  2. Align the mounting holes.
  3. Install with M4 screws, #8 hardware, or your existing speaker screws.
  4. Tighten evenly — do not over-tighten.

The design ensures clearance over the DB692’s tweeter pod and surround.

📌 Notes

  • If you're using a non-Polk 6×9, a 1–2% scale adjustment may improve fit.
