In my workshop, I have a Kallax shelf unit whose compartments I've repurposed into a photo booth, complete with a repurposed aquarium light for bright and beautiful illumination.
I've designed a custom backdrop for it, which makes the photos look better and allows me to showcase products without showing the back panel or the scratched surface of the Kallax.
You can attach the rails with two screws and then slide the cover plates over them as needed. They hold very securely and won't fall off. I've only designed one cubic background for now, but I'll be adding more in the future, so stay tuned.
Procedure: Print the rails and back plate, then print the cubic backgrounds and glue them onto the printed back plates (I used superglue, but hot glue works too).
Now attach the rails to the wall or the Kallax (two screws per rail – I used 4x20 mm chipboard screws). Then you can slide the panels on as desired and have a completely new backdrop for your photos!
