Description

Vertical Laptop Stand – compact, stable, and 3D-print-friendly

This vertical laptop stand is designed to store notebooks safely and in a space-saving manner on your desk or in shelves. The design features a wide, stable base and a textured honeycomb surface that provides a modern look and additional grip.

The stand holds the laptop securely in place. Thanks to felt or foam inserts, the device’s surfaces are protected from scratches. It is ideal for workspaces where organization and efficient use of space are important – perfect for home offices, shelves, or docking setups.

Support my work 💡
Creating and sharing models requires time, material, and many test prints to get everything right. Every upload involves real costs – from filament to printer maintenance.
If you like my designs and want to help me continue creating and improving new models, your boost or support means a lot. Thank you for helping me keep this hobby alive and growing! 🙏

DXF files & printable templates

This project includes DXF files as well as printable templates that allow you to cut foam inserts to the perfect size.
These inserts provide a secure, scratch-free hold.

Pro-Tip (learn from my mistakes 😄):
When cutting the foam inserts, please use a sharp knife. Seriously. Don’t be like me, heroically attacking the foam with a blade that has seen more birthdays than your printer.
Your cuts will be cleaner, your inserts will fit better, and your dignity will remain intact.

Adjusting the Slot Width (Scaling on the X-Axis)

You can adjust the slot width of the laptop stand by scaling the model on the X-axis in your slicer.
The original model has a slot width of 20.5 mm, and it is designed to be used with 0.8 mm foam inserts on both sides.
My own laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad X395) is 18 mm thick, and with the inserts it fits perfectly.

If you need a custom width, feel free to contact me — I can provide a modified version of the model on request.

Use the table below to find the correct scaling factor for your laptop thickness.
Scaling factor = desired_width / 20.5

And just one more important note:
If you need a different slot width, don’t forget to scale the foam template or the DXF file for the inserts by the same factor on the X-axis as the stand itself.
