Description

I needed a light riser for my WeekAqua L600 LED light that I used on my 20 gallon long rimmed tank. The light sits about 5 inches (12.7 cm) off the water surface which was creating hot spots in the middle and darker areas away from the center. This riser will raise the light up about 5.5 inches (14 cm), for a total of about 10.5 inches (26.7 cm) off the water. It has a very slight inwards tilt, at least on my rim. It should work on any adjustable light that would normally sit over the rim. This design uses 6 walls and 40% infill for an exceptionally strong riser. It is quite overbuilt so I have also attached lower strength profiles for faster and cheaper prints. I recommend you print in PETG but have attached PLA profiles for those who need it.

 

One of the plates contains a test piece you can print to see if this design will fit over your rimmed tank before printing both parts. Otherwise just print the first place twice. This will not work on rimless tanks. Removing supports will be easiest with needle nose pliers. Let me know if you have any questions.
