🔨 Dovetail Gauge 1:6 – Marking Aid & Saw Guide for Japanese Saws
This 3D-printed dovetail gauge with a 1:6 ratio is perfect for precise dovetail marking. Thanks to the integrated magnetic system, it can also be used as a saw guide for Japanese pull saws, ensuring clean and controlled cuts.
🧲 Two Variants – for Round & Square Magnets
You can choose between two versions of the dovetail gauge:
1️⃣ Round Magnets:
• Ø 10 mm
• 2 mm thick
This variant holds the Japanese saw lightly to the guide – ideal for fine work.
2️⃣ Square Magnets:
• 20 × 20 mm
• 3 mm thick
This version offers a larger magnetic surface and thus even more adhesive force.
👉 Both magnet types can be glued in if necessary, so they sit permanently tight.

Especially in the first year of apprenticeship, the gauge helps to better understand the 1:6 ratio and at the same time remain stable during the first saw cuts. It is also a great support for hobby carpenters.
