Description

  Introduction

Meet Cryo-Guard, the padlock that believes security should be chill(ed).
Designed for makers, mischief-maniacs, and anyone who loves over-engineered solutions to simple problems, this 3D-printed lock comes in 3 sizes Small, Medium, and “Am I waiting 1 hour for this to thaw !?”

Instead of relying on keys, codes, phones or fingerprints, the Cryo-Guard uses something far more powerful: Physics. This lock won't open until the ice inside melts. It takes ±45 minutes before the mechanism opens up.
Perfect for situations where someone needs a gentle cooling-off period or a short moment of reflection:)

Explained:

Inside the Cryo-Guard sits a small chamber designed to be filled with water.

  1. Fill it with water (or any liquid to your choosing)
  2. Close the lock
  3. Put it upright in your freezer
  4. Wait ±1 hour
  5. Boom! You now have a thermodynamics powered padlock.

As long as the ice stays frozen, your Cryo-Guard will not open. When the ice melts, the lock releases normally.

Use Cases (Mostly Questionable)

  1. Snack Protection in a Shared Fridge
Tired of your colleagues stealing your snacks?
Freeze it shut and enjoy watching them realize they must either wait minutes—or develop patience.
  2.  Relationship “Pause Button”
    Disagreement escalating?
Place the TV remote inside a Cryo-Guard box. By the time the lock melts, you’ve both calmed down. Or the TV broke down.
  3. Kids’ Screen Time Enforcement

Tell them: “You can play again when the Cryo-Guard says so.”
    No arguing with physics.

  4.  Escape Room Puzzle Element

Want a dramatic reveal? Freeze a clue inside a lock box with this mechanism.
Players will stare in frustration as nothing makes the lock open faster.

  5. The Perfect “Detox” Challenge

Coffee, chocolate, phone, unhealthy snacks, lock away your temptations and test your willpower.
If you give up and put it under warm water you automatically lose.

  6.  Gift Packaging for “Fun” Friends

Put a small gift in a box, lock it with Cryo-Guard, put it in the freezer and hand it to the recipient while smiling knowingly.
They’ll treasure the anticipation… and probably hate you a bit.

3 Sizes

(Because One Level of Misery Isn’t Enough)

  • Small: Quick ±20-minute thaw cycle.
  • Medium: 45–60 minutes, depending on room temperature and quantum mechanics.
  • Large: Guaranteed emotional journey. (+60 minutes)

Tips for Best Use

  • Freeze the lock upright for proper internal alignment.
  • Don’t use boiling water, PLA, PETG or ABS can handle low temperatures better.
  • Works best below zero (We tested)
