Description

🎄 Pudgy Pals – Pudgy Reindeer – Multicolour AMS Model

Designed & print-tested by Printworks3DStudios (P3DS)

Pudgy Reindeer is the festive sweetheart of the Pudgy Pals collection — a chubby Christmas reindeer holding a decorated cookie, complete with a Santa hat, soft sculpted fur, and cosy winter details.

This model is fully AMS-ready for clean multicolour printing.

All photos shown are from my real 100% test print.
The downloadable file is supplied at 100% scale for reliable printing but can safely be scaled up.

🖨 Recommended Print Settings

Layer Height: 0.20 mm
Walls: 2
Infill: 8–10% Gyroid
(My test print used 8%)

Supports: Yes — already added for ease of printing (be carful removing the supports between the cookie and reindeer)
Brim: Yes — especially for taller prints or larger scales
Flush Volume: Higher than average due to multiple small colour regions (icing, antlers, gloves, hat trim)

🎨 Colour Information (AMS Ready)

This model is fully segmented for clean AMS multicolour printing.

Colours used in my test print:

  • Brown – Body & face
  • Black – Antlers & boots
  • Red – Santa hat, scarf, nose & cookie base
  • White – Hat trim, gloves, cookie icing

No paint required — all colours come directly from the AMS.

🔍 AMS Printing Info

📝 AMS Printing Tips (Please Read)

This model is designed for crisp AMS colour separation, which means colour flushing is completely normal.

  • Multicolour AMS prints always generate flush waste during colour changes
  • Models with many small details (like icing + boots + hat trim) naturally produce more flush
  • Scaling the model up does not reduce colour swaps, but it does improve the overall print clarity
  • To reduce waste, print multiple Pudgy Pals on the same plate so they share the same swap events

💡 Ways to Reduce AMS Waste

  • Print 2–3 Pudgy Pals at once → same amount of flush, divided across each print
  • Reduce the number of active colours (e.g., remove black or white)
  • Remember: AMS printing always involves flushing — it’s the trade-off for clean, painted-look prints

📏 Scaling

Model is provided at 100%, but scale testing shows:

  • 120% – safe and clean
  • 150% – recommended for display (excellent clarity & weight)
  • 180–200% – prints well with stronger supports + wider brim

📝 Notes

  • Printed on a Bambu A1 using PLA Basic Brown, Black, Red & White
  • If printing larger, ensure you have enough Brown and Red filament available
  • Estimated time at 100%: ~1 day 0 hours on A1 with AMS (actual slicer data may vary slightly)
  • Clean slicing, clean supports, beginner-friendly
  • Fully sculpted in the Pudgy Pals style

🧪 Scale Testing

This model has been fully print-tested at 100% scale with excellent results.
For larger display versions, simply increase the scale inside your slicer — no model edits needed.

💡 AMS Ready

All colour regions are cleanly separated for smooth, reliable AMS multicolour printing — just slice and print.
