[ Model Overview ]
This model is a top cap for 12V battery (Group 24 sizes). I designed this model to stack multiple batteries for winter storage and it also includes wings for a webbing strap or holes for all thread thru bolts to secure the 12V battery down in my RV during use.
This model is for the TOP cap only; there is no bottom tray in this model.
Since group 24 batteries are too wide for most Bambu printers, the model is split in 2 parts assembled with spring clips.
Unfortunately, group 24 battery are not all identical, I tested the model with several types and designed it according to the larger one I had on hand. Some battery models are a bit smaller and the cover will not be super snug. Check the dimensions below.
[ Dimensions ]
- Cover overall size (after assembly) : 268mm long x 210mm wide x 52mm tall
- Battery size (max allowable battery size) : 260mm long x 176 Wide (Top of the battery). Internal height for battery poles is 40mm tall.
[ Assembly ]
Push the clips in holes until the arrow points are aligned with the edge of the ½ cover. The model includes side openings to push the clips tabs with flat screwdrivers, but the clips are a very tight in the pockets by design to avoid slack in the assembly, so it’s not really design to be disassembled once clipped in.
[ Printing ] PETG-HF worked fine for my application because PETH is more flexible but PLA should also be fine depending on your application. Please note PLA is stiffer and does not shrink like PETG so the clips will be tight and stiff with PLA. The print profile may include a skirt loop, this will help you validate your print adhesion and helps purge a little before printing the model.
[ Licence and terms of use ]
This model is for light duty applications only. Use the plastic material according to your application and do not use to hang heavy loads or to hang loads that could injure somebody in case of a part failure.
