D12x3 mm Round Magnet (20PCS) - CA010

Description

MFT Table Hole Plugs

I created a 4x8 MFT style workbench and added holes using the Parf Guide system at 96mm intervals in a grid.

https://tsoproducts.com/jigs-fixtures-guides/parf-guide-system/ujk-parf-guide-system-mark-ii/

While the table has been awesome, at times I don't want things to fall through the holes and would prefer a solid, flat, hole-free surface. I designed these plugs to drop into the chamfered 20mm holes providing a flush plug when needed. Each plug has a 6mm nut threaded onto the bottom which, combined with a magnet, allows the plugs to be easily removed when necessary.

The holes can be chamfered using this tool which you attach to a drill. It makes a nice chamfer around the edge of the hole while it cleans out any glue and other materials that may have accumulated. It's a must-have tool for any MFT style bench  in my opinion.

Here's one that you can turn by hand.

There are knock-off version of this on Amazon but I haven't tested them so they may be a different size chamfer. I have on on order and will update this post if it turns out to be a good alternative.

There's a magnet embedded in a knurled holder to pull the plug from the hole. They use 12x3mm magnets which can be purchased here: https://amzn.to/4a2DaTc

Each plug has a steel nut screwed to the plastic threads inside the plug. I found some cheap nuts on Amazon.

Note many of the nuts shown on the site are Stainless Steel and they are not magnetic.

Incredibly happy with this design. They’re robust and fit well. I tried other designs prior, but I like that these fill the whole 3/4” dog hole. They stay put even when brushing and light vacuuming (so long as you’re not hitting them directly from above!) There’s no slop when placed in the dog holes, but still easily removed with the included magnet. I was able to easily print 100 at a time with my P2S 256mm plate. I printed mine in black PETG, but if I were making a recommendation, I’d go with a brighter, contrasting color. I find that the black plugs are hard to distinguish from the otherwise dark, empty holes of a removed plug. Further, dropping one into the abyss of a shop floor… well, at least they’re easy to print for replacements!

Glad you like them! I printed mine in lime-green Festool-like Bambu filament and they look great too.

Solid print. After rubnnung a test print with the two pieces in the file, I made another plate with 154 of the dogs. All installed and they look great. Thank you

For some reason, I’m not able to rate this print, but I think it’s simple and great! Printed 200 of these jokers for my Paulk work bench and I’m really happy with them. They excel in the fact that they take up the whole depth of the dog holes on my bench. Much less likely to be inadvertently dislodged during work or clean up. If I have any recommendation for other users, don’t print black. It messes with your eyes in distinguishing between a plug and an open hole, and lets not even talk about dropping one onto the abyss of the shop floor! 😂

Great product - perfect print and a lot cheaper than metal ones! Batched off 70 this afternoon. Just need to find a stronger magnet then the one I have...

Works well. I increased the magnet hole slightly in Bambu studio to fit magnets I have.

Works great. I had some before that weren't as tall, and they would always get pulled out of the hole by the vacuum cleaner if you vacuumed over them
