Description

A fully customizable T-connector for dowels/rods/tubes — functional, parametric & print-optimized.

 

This model comes with an included OpenSCAD file, allowing you to fully adjust geometry and print-orientation logic.
Designed for practical builds, furniture prototypes, STEM projects, garden frames — and for anyone who needs strong, dimension-accurate connectors.

 

This connector is part of my Modular Connectors system, designed for building flexible, scalable structures from simple elements.

Customizable parameters

tube diameter – internal rod/dowel size
wall thickness – structural strength
extra_strength (true/false) – adds reinforcing ribs
horizontal_through_hole (true/false) – full pass-through of horizontal tube
best_print_orientation (true/false)
false: standard flat print, horizontal tube on the build plate, vertical tube vertical to build plate
true: connector automatically generates 45° cut ends so it can be printed “standing” for maximum mechanical strength

Geometry variations (auto-generated)

  • With ribs
  • Without ribs
  • With hollow horizontal tube
  • Horizontal tube closed in middle
  • Standard print orientation
  • 45° cut “standing-print” version for strongest layer alignment

Print recommendations

  • Strongest: enable best_print_orientation = true → prints at 45° layer angle
  • Standard: best_print_orientation = false, horizontal tube lying flat
  • 3–5 walls recommended for mechanical use
