Description

Overview

I had a lot of fun turning a bicycle brake rotor into a small wall or desk clock, and I’m sharing the files here in case anyone else wants to build one too. The design uses a 180 mm rotor along with a simple clockwork unit, and everything is modeled to be easy to print and customize.

Design Details

  • Clock Hands
The hands are shaped specifically for a 180 mm brake rotor, giving the clock a clean, centered look when assembled.
  • Clockwork Mount
The mount fits Shimano Center-Lock rotors and holds the clockwork securely while keeping the style close to the original bike part.
  • Clockwork Used
I used this simple unit: B0DNZTDPKC on Amazon (link from my build).

Included Files

I include everything needed to build or remix the model, whether you want to print it as-is or make your own adjustments.

Optional Stand

If you prefer not to hang the clock on a wall, you can use this great brake disc stand instead:

Notes for Assembly

Just attach your 180 mm rotor, fit the clockwork, mount the hands, and you’re ready to go. The design leaves plenty of room for personalization or remixing.

I ordered the watch from your Amazon link. Did you separate the seconds hand sheet from the plug-in center and then press the printed seconds hand on top?

Yes, exactly. The hands I designed should have the same diameter as the ones from Amazon. There could be problems with the clearings if your printer is exactly calibrated as mine. If you do so, you may try to increase the holes in Bambu Studio via a Modifier Cylinder.

What clock is it? I can't seem to find it, and those links don't work.
