The box connects with just a bit of filament for the pins.

made for my treen kiddo who is going on a week long trip to visit her best friend in a different state and it’s her first time flying solo, so I printed this as a special gift for her. i’m also not experienced at melting filament to use as hinges, so how to use acrylic. Paint to touch up the burn marks.

What hardware did you use for the hinges and locking mechanism?

Definitely a lot smaller than I was expecting. Printed great though. I used filament and heated the ends with a heat torch to secure the filament inside.

really not a fan of "use filament for the hinges" approach personally, but the inside is perfect for keeping my things nicely organised when travelling so that outweighs the disliking of the hinges. overall a good print and some people will be less bothered about the hinges.

Print came out perfectly. Love the use of filament strands as hinges. If you find that the filament hinges start to come apart, a small drop of glue at each end of the hinge should help.

great print to hold jewelry in place and stay organized. If I had to be picky. It was hard to get the filament through the holes of the locking clip mechanism and any thicker chains like the left too in my image were harder to wrap around and are more loose, but the other ones wrapped around great and stay really sturdy.

It turned out perfect I only had to slightly enlarge a hole to insert the filament piece for the hinges but it turned out really really well I am very happy
