Description

The Relics of the Rune Forge: Eikthyrnir, the Majestic Guardian 🦌

Not every creation of the forge is pure destruction. Eikthyrnir, the stag, was crafted with the master blacksmith's highest precision. His majestic antlers reach into the sky like the branches of the world tree Yggdrasil to capture the magical energy of the gods. He is the proud observer of the forests and brings an extremely noble, almost royal aura to your setup. A masterpiece of metal and magic.

The Design: Forget Bambi – this is the boss of the woods! Runes circle him like a royal aura, and the antlers are so magnificent you’re almost afraid they’ll scratch the door frame if he comes to life. He was forged for people who know that "decor" doesn't have to mean "boring."

My Print Settings:

  • Orientation: Print standing up! I strongly recommend printing the relief vertically. This ensures a sharpness in the details and fur structure that simply cannot be achieved laying down.
  • Material: PLA Matte Black Highspeed
  • Layer Height: 0.12 mm
  • Walls: 2
  • Infill: 15%
  • Supports: Yes, Tree Supports (Build Plate Only)
  • Size: Approx. 245 mm

Painting (Dry Brushing): Grab a brush and some bronze or gold paint. Dry-brush it and... BAM! šŸ’„ Suddenly you no longer have a piece of plastic, but an ancient Viking artifact that archaeologists would envy. Ideal for living rooms, man-caves, or any place that needs a dose of "Majestic Epicness."

šŸ”„ The Full Pack: Don't let the stag hang alone. Get the whole Rune Forge gang:

Great print as always. I detached the antlers to print in a PETG and the rest in PLA

I've printed the boar and the wolf, right now the bear is printing. I wanted to do Eikthyrnir next, but this one doesn't have a base like the others. Can you add one with base? I'd love to complete the set!

It's awesome to see you completing the set! šŸŗšŸ—šŸ» The stag (Eikthyrnir) was actually designed without a base on purpose so it could be mounted higher up on a wall—just like in old Viking halls where the stag symbol throned above the others. 🦌✨ To be honest, I'm not sure yet if I'll release a version with a base, as I have quite a few other projects in the pipeline right now. But I'll keep it in mind! Thanks for the great feedback and the photo!

Great print. Unfortunately I cannot rate it for some technical reason šŸ˜ž Otherwise I would immediately give 5 stars!

A great motif! I just wish there had been a version with a similarly thick base like Fenrir's

Thank you! I'm glad you like the design šŸ™‚ Currently, the deer is only available without a base. I actually often get both requests – sometimes with a base, sometimes without. I have already thought about a base variant, but I can't say at the moment if and when I will get to it

My mistake: I mean the 'wall plate'. It's about 15mm thick on the Fenrir and only 4mm thick on the deer. It saves material, but I find the thick wall thickness a bit more elegant

No, not at the moment, as it was only created for the wall

Sure, you can definitely print this with PETG as well! 🦌✨ As long as your settings are dialed in and the filament is nice and dry, the details will come out just as great as with PLA. Give it a try, I’d love to see the result!
