Description

Objective Room – The Fountain of Light

The barbarian had been “nominated”—or rather, tricked—into carrying the cask of Bugman’s Superbrew. The wizard, with his silver tongue, had convinced him that only the strongest should bear such a burden. The barbarian had protested at the dungeon’s start, declaring that as leader he must carry the lantern. The wizard, feigning generosity, offered to take the lantern “just this once.” Of course, the barbarian would never surrender the legacy Bek had entrusted him with. Leadership meant the lantern, and the lantern meant trust. So, with a harness cobbled together by wizardly hands, the barrel was strapped to the barbarian’s back.

Unknown to them, the elf and Bek had fashioned a wagon that could have spared the barbarian the weight. The elf was about to reveal it when the wizard clasped his hands in pleading silence. Bek’s eyes gleamed with mischief, and he laid a hand on the elf’s forearm. The elf caught the grin, sighed, and pushed the wagon back into the brush.

Fast forward to the final chamber—the Fountain of Light.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The group had just finished clearing the room of its guardians. The barbarian and Dwarf dragged the corpses aside while the wizard dusted his robes.

"The faint trickle of water echoes through the chamber, almost too soft to hear. A pale yellow glow radiates from the center of the room, illuminating the cracked stone walls with an otherworldly shimmer. Dust motes drift lazily in the light, as if time itself slows in this place.

The fountain stands silent, its basin dry, its carvings worn by centuries. Yet the glow hints at power still lingering—waiting to be awakened."

Wizard (grandly):
"Now that the room is cleansed of foulness, let us finish this quest and claim our reward."

Bek raised a hand, clearing his throat.

Bek (firmly):
"Not so hasty. All this fighting has left me parched. They said we only needed most of the keg to wake the fountain. A small flagon won’t hurt anyone."

The wizard opened his mouth to object, but dwarven ears were deaf to caution. Bek had already cracked the keg, producing a flagon and four steins as if from thin air.

The wizard and barbarian stared in amazement. They glanced at the elf, who seemed utterly unbothered—as if conjured steins were beneath notice. The wizard thought: Does nothing unsettle this elf?

Bek poured equal shares, then stood beside the keg, quivering with anticipation. He raised his stein, inhaled deeply, and closed his eyes. Slowly, reverently, he took a sip. His eyes widened, then softened. He slowly drank the entire stein in one long, unbroken pull.

When he lowered it, his cuts and bruises had vanished. A sigh of utter contentment escaped him, and a single tear rolled down his cheek.

Bek (almost purring):
"Liquid heaven."

The barbarian, unable to contain himself, seized his stein and downed it in moments. He looked from Bek to the others—then his eyes rolled back, and he collapsed lifeless to the floor.

The wizard and elf froze, wide-eyed. In perfect unison, they dumped their steins into the empty fountain, unwilling to share the barbarian’s fate.

Unsure, they approached their fallen companion. The wizard bent to check for breath—when suddenly the barbarian’s eyes shot open. He sat bolt upright, possessed with vigor. The wizard yelped, cursed, and fell backward onto his rump.

Barbarian (grinning, then groaning):
"That was the best beer EVER!"

He clutched his head, wincing as though a thousand angry bees battered his skull. Yet his bruises faded, his wounds knit. He stared at Bek with newfound awe. What manner of dwarf could drink such poison and emerge stronger?

The others thought the same.

Bek, oblivious, hefted the keg and poured it into the dry fountain. A moment later, the gurgle of purest water spilled forth, filling the basin with radiant light.

The group stared at Bek, their awe plain. The barbarian’s reverence was unmistakable.

Bek glanced at them, bemused.

Bek (snorting):
"Haven’t you lot seen a dwarf drink a beer before? What’s wrong with you? We’ve a reward to collect!"

Boost Me (for free)

I would love a boost almost as much as getting a sip of Bugman's XXXXXX Superbrew.  Since I will be unlikely to sip this heady brew a boost will have to suffice.

This is for war hammer ques the 1995 version but you can use it for D&D or anything else you would like.

This is OpenLOCK compatable and you can find the OpenLOCK clip here
https://makerworld.com/en/models/1350945-whq-125-openlock-clip#profileId-1393578

I remade this as I was unhappy with my first attempt.  I have advanced quite a long ways.  This had been my first attempt at making a board piece for War Hammer Quest.   The things I have learned in the month since alowed me to make this closer to what the board piece actually looked like.   Previously I used a celtik knot bread and “edited it”   I spend hours and hours and hours on it.  painstakingly moving and adjusting each piece so it was almost exact.   WOW, i'm glad I learned of better ways to do things!!     I will still post the “original” Fountain of Light room I made at a later date.  I will name it “Fountain of Light (Original)” or something like that.

Even with this model I learned quite a bit.  from using blender and tinkercad and attempting to combine things.   I felt i had a terrable model.  I did some test prints and what came out “wasn't so bad”  It's amazing when you are zoomed in the things you can see.

also when you make things in blender they can start to become overwhelmingly large files.  (not sure how to make them smaller, but that is for a different story)

i have made a fountain to go with the base.   You can print it in one piece if you want but I would rather print the fountain seperate.   I have left an indention to allow a snug fit of the fountain to the base.  Again if you want to glue it you can, but it might not be easy to store or travel with one large piece.

I'm also intending to make several (of the same fountain) for the different scinarios in the game.  I plan to add epoxy for the water effects.

This was printed using bambu Matte Ash Grey.

I used .4mm nozzle but feel free to use .2mm and up the quality of the print.   I'm not sure  how well the .2mm will look with the fountain as I having made it with that yet.

There is also another fountain that I had previously made a remix of that I used.   I may add a new print profile with that if anyone wants it.  it will be a future build.

A friend at work suggest that I add maginets to everything……I may do this in the future once everything is made.  I will have to experiment with setting the print profile to pause so that magnets can be added.   Baby steps for now

I do hope you enjoy this model and if you do, please check out my other models.

Thanks
