🛠️ Mac mini M4 Cooling Base + Hidden Dock — Apple Style, Total Order, Support-Free Printing

Hello MakerWorld!
I present to you a project born from a very simple need: to give the Mac mini M4 a bit more breathing room and at the same time free the desk from cable clutter.
From this came this raised base with integrated dock, custom-designed and easily and cleanly printable

🔥 Functional outside, smart inside

Raising the Mac mini means improving airflow: more space at the base = more natural ventilation.
I'm not selling thermal miracles, I don't have tools to measure temperatures, but the principle is solid and the practical effect is noticeable: the Mac remains cooler to the touch during intense use

I have also integrated a hole perfectly aligned with the Mac mini's power button, so you can reach it without having to lift the computer every time. A simple, yet fundamental detail: in the original configuration the button is difficult to press, while with this base, access is immediate

📦 Multi-purpose internal dock (not just for HDDs!)

The real convenience is the integrated compartment: it was designed to house my WD My Passport, but it can also accommodate:

  • external SSDs
  • mini USB hubs
  • compact power supplies
  • various adapters
The purpose is one: to disappear from view. No more drives lying around, no more dangling cables

🎨 Clean design, in line with Apple style

Soft shapes, continuous surfaces and an aesthetic cleanliness that integrates perfectly with the Mac.
On the front, I have inserted a custom plaque with embossed lettering, made using reverse printing (perfect for those printing without an AMS)

The front plaque is printed using the reverse printing technique: for those unfamiliar with it, it means printing the text in reverse, flipping the piece during assembly to obtain perfect letters without multi-material

🧱 Very simple printing — 2 pieces + plaque, zero supports

The project is designed to be printed by anyone:
✔️ no supports
✔️ standard PLA
✔️ two main parts
✔️ immediate assembly
The result is robust, precise, and free of support marks
