Description
Mazda MX-5 / Miata NA – Fuel Cap Holder
A practical and minimalistic fuel cap holder designed specifically for the Mazda MX-5 / Miata NA (1989–1997). It keeps your fuel cap securely in place during refueling and prevents it from hanging and scratching your paint.
This part fits directly inside the fuel filler area, with no permanent modifications required.
🔧 Features:
Designed for the OEM fuel cap of the NA chassis (note: some regional differences may exist – please refer to product photos).
Easy to print with no supports required – best printed flat.
Functional, discreet design that blends well with the original factory look.
Tested on several NA vehicles to ensure consistent fitment.
If you have questions or need a modified version – feel free to leave a comment, I’m happy to help.
⚠️ Fitment Disclaimer (Tolerances):
This model was created with standard FDM tolerances in mind, but due to:
printer calibration differences,
filament shrinkage and material variation,
slicer or flow settings,
a perfect fit cannot be guaranteed on all printers/setups.
If the part fits too loosely or too tightly, try printing at 99.5%–100.5% scale to fine-tune the result.
🛠️ Print Recommendations:
Material: PETG / ABS
Layer height: 0.2 mm or lower
No supports required
No brims/rafts needed (optional depending on bed adhesion)
Update 21.01.2026
Thanks to user @maddim I've found out that shape of the gap changed as the production of miatas went on so:
“The mystery is solved. Mine is 92 model. My friend has a 91 model. It seems that your design perfectly matches his car (the older) and not mine. Mine the gap is 1% smaller.”
so scale it down if you have later models :)
