Tyler The Creator: IGOR Vinyl (Decorative)

What is this?
This is a 3d printed Vinyl Record for decorative purposes. It features the cover of “IGOR” by Tyler, The Creator and comes in two sizes: Full Vinyl Size 250mm, and A1 mini size 170mm.

What Colors are required?
You need 3 filaments to print this: Black, White, and Pink. It is printed from the bottom up and switches filament 4 times. It is strongly recommended to use a non-matte White filament, as we need the semi-translucency to have color gradients. However users have printed with matte and were satisfied with the results, it's just that the result will be noticeably more bright in greyscale areas and lacking in color shade range.

Also note that I used a pastel pink which is kinda dull. Maybe use a nice, vibrant pink instead. Please share what you print, I wanna see :)

How was this made?

This was made using Hueforge, an ingenius software which utilizes the semi-translucency of most plastic filaments to blend colors between bottom and top layers. On this one specifically I had to “stack” two different hueforge projects on top of eachother, so as to have a full color dynamic range in both the portrait and the frame of the album. It's also really hard to achieve og picture accuracy in hueforge when using colors, or to have part model be black and white, and part colored, so that's why I split these tasks. You can see this “stacking” on the last pic I uploaded, first part starts black, ends white, and then second part adds black again, pink then white. Second part obviously is made transparent in the middle so as to not cover the first part.

Is AMS required?

AMS is not required. If you want to print without AMS, you must do so as follows: Open with Bambu Slicer and slice. Then, remove the auto-swaps on the sidebar. Add pauses on the following layers, and change filaments manually on the pause during print:

start with black

at #8 change to white
at #15 change to black
at #16 change to pink
at #19 change to white

Printing Tips?
Clean your build plate! This will eliminate bottom surface imperfections but will also ensure your print sticks well during printing, as large surfaces tend to curve inward and warp. Also, if you want to slice it yourself, make sure to set layer height to 0.08mm, base layer 0.16mm, and infill at 100%
