The Great Wave off Kanagawa - 3D Picture

This 3D model is a multi-layer color print of “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” by Katsushika Hokusai.
The artwork is recreated using separate printed color layers, giving the piece a textured, relief-like surface without any coating or painting. Each color region is modeled at different heights, resulting in a detailed and tactile finish.

The model measures 12 × 17.5 cm, sized to fit into most standard photo frames.

Due to the high amount of detail and the many separated surfaces, slicing may take noticeably longer than usual depending on your slicer and hardware.

Printing Notes (AMS & Non-AMS)

• The model can be printed with or without an AMS.
• For AMS printing, I added a pause shortly before the( if its not shown on, add it on 29)  5th color so filament spools can be swapped inside the AMS.
• For non-AMS printing, these pauses need to be added manually at the corresponding color-change layers.

Background Colors

I personally used brown and gold for the background to give the piece a warm and artistic look.
For easier printing, these colors can simply be replaced with white or any preferred color scheme.
