HVAC Rectangular Register Boot / Damper
Print Profile(1)

Description
I designed a custom register boot and damper to add a heat vent to my basement. I tapped into an existing 12" × 4" rectangular ceiling duct and created a combined starting collar, register boot, and adjustable damper to direct warm air downward. The flange includes screw holes for mounting, and after installing I sealed the joints with HVAC tape before closing the ceiling.
The damper lid faces the airflow and can be set at 0° (closed), 10°, 30°, or 45° for adjustable airflow control.
This was printed in ABS. The surface looks rough because my nozzle was bent at the time (see photo), but the part works properly and stays hidden in the ceiling so I left it as is.
