Description

I created this remix after a friend asked for alternate versions of the Platonic solids with consistent dimensions across the full set. The original shapes are accurate, but naturally vary in height and edge length, so these two versions make them more uniform and visually consistent.

Version 1 – Uniform Height

In this set, the height of the cube was used as the baseline dimension. Each Platonic solid was individually scaled so that all shapes match the cube’s height.

The height values are very close, but not perfect, because the scaling was percentage-based. The result is a visually consistent set where every solid appears the same overall height when displayed together.

Version 2 – Uniform Side Length

For this version, I first printed the original file and measured the edge length of each shape. Using the cube’s edge as the reference, I calculated scaling percentages for the other shapes so that all solids now share nearly identical edge lengths.

As above, the edges are not perfect, but they are extremely close and uniform enough for display, teaching, and gaming use.

Included Files

Each version is provided in two sizes:

  • 100%
  • 75%

All shapes in each file are grouped together, allowing the entire set to be scaled up or down as a whole.
If you want to resize only specific shapes, simply ungroup or split the objects first.

Notes

  • Only proportional scaling was applied, so each solid remains a correct Platonic shape.
  • Great for teaching, math demonstrations, tabletop gaming, or decorative display.
  • Thanks to the original designer, Robin S, for the excellent model and for encouraging me to share these standardized versions.
