Description

Boost Me (for free)

If you found this model useful, consider boosting me to help support future projects!

This is an over-engineered drying rack for your boots & mitts, with tons of invisible internal support structures to make it both sturdy, and stiff to last a long time.

It's designed to sit on top of existing floor vents. I find this solution better than replacing the floor vent, as it makes it easier to remove when not in use.

I have included two print options

  • one piece print, with a bit of tree supports for you to remove afterwards
  • multi-piece prints, where you are expected to then glue together

either works, and does not affect the overall structural strength.

Inspired from the commercial “Maxxdry vent boot dryer”, but designed with way more details and internal supports.

I printed mine in PLA, but if you find it warping due to heat, print in PETG or ABS/ASA.

if your vent blows very hot air - do not print in PLA - go straight with PETG! a friend printed in PLA and here is how it looks 😂😂😂 i guess the vent near my front door is relative cool due to distance to HVAC... 😛

I printed 2 of these in Elegoo black PETG for my wife's grade 1 classroom so that she can dry the kids mitts after they come in from recess. Thank you so much for designing and sharing this boots and mitts floor vent dryer.
