A minimalist magnetic levitation gadget for the desk – a pyramid that hovers stably in the air thanks to three delicate supports
This 3D-printed object creates a real levitation effect:
A light pyramid visibly floats above a base, held by the repulsive force of two neodymium magnets and three fine, rigidly printed connectors. The result looks clean, technical, and elegant at the same time – perfect as an eye-catcher in the home office or on the desk
The design is based on a triangular basic structure with three stabilizing struts that precisely keep the pyramid in balance. The construction is deliberately kept minimalist so that the levitation effect is the main focus
🔧 Principle of Operation
- A 20 × 4 mm neodymium disc magnet (grade N42 or stronger) is located in the base
- Another magnet of the same dimensions is located at the top of the pyramid
- The magnets repel each other – the pyramid lifts off
- Three delicate support elements stabilize the height and prevent tilting
This combination creates a clean, stable levitation effect, as seen in the photo
🧩 Variations Included
To accommodate different magnet strengths, the model includes multiple lengths for the three connecting elements.
Recommended length for standard magnets:
37 mm hole-to-hole → best stability and perfect levitation effect
🧲 Magnet Recommendation
- At least N42 (or stronger)
- Format: 20 mm diameter / 4 mm height
- The strength of this magnet size is the minimum for a visible levitation effect

Neodymium magnets are strong. Handle with care, keep away from electronics
