This modular cat house is built from laser-cut 3 mm birch plywood and 3D-printed corner connectors.
The structure forms a regular polyhedron made of 12 pentagonal panels, creating a spacious and stylish hideout for your cat.
Perfect as a decorative piece and a cozy resting spot.
Materials
Laser-Cut Parts
- 12× pentagon panels
- 1 panel with the entrance opening (Ø 170 mm)
- 11 solid panels (no opening)
- Material: 3 mm birch plywood
- Pentagon side length: 158 mm
3D-Printed Parts
- 20× corner connectors
- Recommended material: PETG (stronger and slightly flexible → ideal for screw-loaded joints)
Hardware Required
- 60× M4 screws (10 mm) — flat head recommended
- 60× M4 nuts
- Each connector uses 3 screws + 3 nuts
Dimensions
- Internal max span: ~400 mm (plenty of room for adult cats)
Assembly Notes
- All panels join using the printed connectors — no glue needed.
- The polyhedral design ensures excellent rigidity despite the thin plywood.
- PETG connectors provide the perfect balance of strength and tolerance.
